In 2004, a small group of Muslim homes in Chicago’s western suburbs set about retaining religious observances, leisurely activities, educational programs and everyday get togethers to fulfill her community’s special religious and societal wants. To enhance these strategies, these people created the Mohammed Webb base, a company they imagined as a “third area,” neither home nor mosque, just where they were able to check out exactly what Justine Howe refers to “the potentialities of Muslim being and that belong into the modern united states of america.”
